About me
Friend,
I think the best introduction is to tell you my purpose statement: I will embrace who God created me to be and take opportunities to add value to myself and others, using my faith as my foundation.
Ultimately, writing/blogging is about adding value to others and myself. Whatever I write, I want it to help someone else in their journey find their purpose, find encouragement and/or strengthen their faith. I want to use the moments in life that brought me to my knees, to bring glory to the One that covered me with His wings.
This last couple years, I’ve been truly discovering who I am (thanks to life coaching) - strong, creative, passionate, confident, have a generous spirit, and strong faith! In addition, I’m a mother of two wonderful young ladies (21 and 17). Single/divorced…knocking on the door to 50.
I’m an educator at heart having taught 2nd grade, 6th grade, K-6 library, dual credit, and college pre-service teachers! I discovered a passion for teacher training and technology during the pursuit of my masters degree. I love teaching, training, and helping others…it’s the educator in me! I was able to have the “dream job” of that for 5 years as an Ed Tech Specialist.
Dream jobs can have environments that lead to burnout still. So, I left that position for my current one as Project Manager. I knew very little about “project management”, but God has given me the gift of administration and it’s being used! He knew I needed a team of co-workers that would be like family…and He blessed me with this group. A group that has helped me move twice in a year and supported me through tough seasons of life.
I’m in a very new season now. One that is exciting and open for new opportunities/adventures. I sold my small-town house with backyard for the dog -- to rent a condo in a city with no yard…because my oldest asked if I could be closer for her senior year of college (and most of my family was this direction). What I didn’t realize was how much I needed a new town! A town that could be mine and where I feel free and able to be/become me more.
Becoming positioned for His purpose,
Carol
